The term “laser” is an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation, and describes a physical process: an amplified concentration of light energy at a specific wavelength, capable of focusing on a specific point or on a narrow beam spread over a long distance. Using the “diode laser system” (usually at 980 nm, but other wavelengths are possible) the welding process with laser irradiation allows to join a plastic absorbent component with a transparent one (so called as it is transparent to the infrared wavelength used). The infrared radiation, driven by waveguides, passes through the transparent part and heats the absorbent component. Reached the melting point, the absorbent component, according to the principle of conduction, heats the transparent one, allowing the real welding. Finally, to ensure a perfect welding and sealing quality, the two components are pressed together by a mechanical press.

The hot plate welding machines are part of our traditional production since 1986, and nowadays CEMAS ELETTRA owns a remarkable know-how linked to this technology. CEMAS ELETTRA provides three different models of standard machines, all of them “full electrical”: HP9, HP14, HP20. There is also a ‘’special’’ model, HP13², specifically dedicated to the welding of plastic pallets. Starting from 2007, CEMAS ELETTRA has also developed different infrared applications suitable to be applied to the same range of machines: IR9, IR14, IR20. Currently infrared is one of our best-seller technologies, further proof of the reliability of our machines.

PLASTIC PISTOL HAND TOOL
The newly developed plastic hand tool is light, handy, easy to carry and use. SONIC ITALIA’s range of frequencies includes 40, 35 and 30 kHz. The versatility in terms of weight and frequencies and its extreme reliability allow it to be used in many sectors, from the simplest ones such as the welding of manure belts, to riveting and welding of sound-absorbing materials in the automotive sector.

The new NEXT R20.2 generator has been specifically designed to be used by OEM companies on automation lines and special machines. With 20 kHz of frequency, up to 2000W rms and 3100W peak power, it is perfect to use in all fields of application of ultrasound technology, both in continuous and step by step mode. Sonic Italia has 4 different types of converters, specially designed for each type of project and customized according to the field of application. In addition to a user-friendly and intuitive menu interface, the generator can be controlled by PLC through the Modbus RS485 RTU communication protocol. The proprietary software developed by Sonic Italia allows our customers to supervise up to 8 parameters and all alarms in real time. The integrated digital oscilloscope gives the possibility to view the processes live, providing the first step of quality control.
